This particular plant comes from southern New Mexico. It was part of a population of colour variants, which all have bigger flowers than normal imbricatas. In nature, this population was destroyed by a fungal infection, and has not recoverd.
The plant is tall growing, and has a flower part yellow, part pink and part red. The flower colour varies depending on temperature and growing conditions. This plant needed to bit bigger than other imbricatas in my greenhouse to flower, and the stem appears more open.
